How I look after your information

The short version: I only collect what you type into the contact or booking form, I only use it to reply to you, and I never sell it or add you to a mailing list.

Who I am

Lumis Digital is run by me, Frederick Laroche, in Nelson, New Zealand. I follow the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. For anything about your information, email me at frederick.laroche@lumisdigital.nz.

What I collect

  • The contact form: your name, your email address and your message. Nothing else is asked for.
  • Booking a consultation: your name, email address, business name, the time you pick and, if you add them, your phone number and a few words about your business.
  • Visitor counts: the site uses Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It does not use cookies and does not identify you.
  • Technical logs: like most websites, the hosting company keeps short-term technical logs, such as IP addresses, to keep the site running and secure.

How I use it

Only to reply to you, set up the free consultation, and keep a record of our conversation. I don't sell or share your details, and I don't add you to newsletters or marketing lists.

Where it's kept

The contact form is delivered to my email through a service called EmailJS, and the website is hosted by Vercel. A booking is saved in my own database, hosted by Railway, and creates the event in my Google Calendar (with Google Meet), which sends you the invitation. These companies are based overseas, so your details may be stored or processed outside New Zealand. I choose providers with strong security, and I only use them for the purposes above.

How long I keep it

As long as needed to reply to you and for any work that follows. If we don't end up working together and you'd like your details deleted, just ask and I will.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information I hold about you, and ask me to correct or delete it. Email frederick.laroche@lumisdigital.nz and I'll reply within a few working days. If you're not happy with how I've handled your information, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Data in client projects

When we build a tool for your business, how your data is handled, where it runs and who can see it is agreed in writing before any work starts. Your data is only used for your project, and we decide together where it is hosted.
